Grissino breadsticks were introduced to the Italian cuisine in the 17th century by Turin aristocrats for whom eating rounded breadsticks was an element of a sophisticated diet. Since then, the best quality grissini have been made simply by rolling bread with one's hand. Only grissini made in that manner deserve to appear on the best tables.
